It Starts Here
Oodles of beads in bright colors—this is what makes a beader’s heart race! Sometimes we just dive our hands through, sometimes we sort them, sometimes we just stash them, and sometimes we string, embroider, weave, fringe, or glue them.
Beads have been with us since the first evidence of man’s existence, as both decoration and currency, and often as symbols of protection. The word “bead” comes from the Old English gebed, meaning prayer. The assembling of beads is a meditation: repetitive, soothing. We are addicted to both the colors and the calm.
I hope you like this collection as much as I loved making it. Go to “Catalog” and roll your mouse over each treasure to enlarge it. Some will turn into little movies.
Enjoy!
