I discovered bead embroidery in Russia, where I think babies are born knowing how to do it. In the Hermitage Museum, I loved the ancient robes and headwear of Eastern Orthodox bishops and other bigwigs, practically paved in beads and pearls sewn by hand. I loved this background bead mixture, too. It’s almost like a mosaic in an ancient temple.
